CNA Certification Florida Courses

CNA Certification courses are designed to prepare you for your licensing exam. There are several avenues available to you. You can choose to enroll in training classes offered at hospitals, community colleges, nursing care facilities or a Florida Red cross Chapter. The length of time required for successfully completing the program can range from a few weeks to months depending on the approach you choose.

Accelerated programs can be completed in the fastest period. If you should choose to enroll for an accelerated training program, it is advisable that you clear your schedule for the period. Accelerated programs generally require that students spend a minimum of 8 hours in the class every day.

Alternatively, if you do not have the time to invest in a full time program, you can opt to enroll for part time CNA certification classes. Part time courses offer more flexible hours allowing you to attend classes during the day or evening. They however take longer to complete—typically 2 months. Regardless of the training method you choose, you will be expected to meet the minimum required hours of clinical practice.

You can also choose to enroll for courses online. This avenue will address only the theoretical part of your training. Like other training options, you will still be expected to gain the mandated clinical experience in a real hospital or health facility.

During your clinical training program, you will be taught a lot about patient health care. This will include basic nursing subjects such as how to feed or bathe patients who are having difficulties doing these themselves. Other topics include how to transport and lift patients safely. You will also learn how to use different equipment in the hospital as well as become acquainted with the many medical terminologies used in the health industry.

All of this is designed to prepare you for life in the hospital. Your classroom training program will include social and ethical topics such as the rights of the patient, how to communicate with family members and privacy issues.

Alongside your classroom training, you will also be expected to participate in a hands-on training of what you have learned in class. This will be done in a hospital or clinic under the professional guidance of a registered supervisor. You will get to administer medication, take care of patients and work with nurses and doctors in the field.
